GUWAHATI:
The Stars of North East India (SONEI), a
charitable public trust, organises knowledge-sharing talks at regular intervals
under its programme, “Star Talks.” The 11th talk under the series
was organised in Guwahati on Sunday. Reshma NC Shah, a leading education
consultant and motivational speaker, delivered a talk on “Changing mindsets: a
personal journey.” She said that we human beings are often biased and form
negative opinion about people because of what we see outwardly. But in reality,
such people could be wonderful human beings, friendly and helpful to everyone
around them. The talk was followed by an interactive session, engrossing and
enlightening. A bouquet of flowers was presented to the speaker by Anisul
Hoque, founder & creative head, Resonance Brand Communications.
Two
special guests, Shamim Ara, social media influencer, and Shaheen Akhtar,
upcoming poet were welcomed by Nazneen Zaffar and Abu Zakaria respectively. A
poetry reading session followed in which both established and emerging poets
read out their self-composed poems. The participants were Farnaaz Islam, Sabah
Al Ahmed, Shaheen Akhtar, Nurul Laskar, and Zerin Wahid.
The
Guwahati launch of the book “Beyond Soft Skills” authored by Nurul Laskar was
also held on the occasion. Babiba Sultana, marketing consultant, read out excerpts
from the book that dealt with “how to take criticism” to mark the occasion.
Dr
Shabnam Choudhury offered the vote of thanks at the end of the meeting. Samima
Sultana Ali and Sharique Hussain were thanked profusely for hosting the meet.
The event was extended logistic support by Adv A Sabur Tapader of Unity
